Gold American Buffalo - Random Year

The Buffalo 1 oz Gold Coin is part of the American Buffalo coins series from the US Mint and serves as a unique intersection of art, history, and politics.

Its design pays homage to American heritage, its composition reflects economic and fiscal principles, and its introduction demonstrates the United States Mint's commitment to producing coins of the highest standard. It is a tangible representation of the nation's values and aspirations, making it a fascinating subject for both numismatists and political observers.

American Buffalo 1 oz Gold Coin

The Buffalo Gold coin series is minted annually with no mintage limit. The number of coins minted in any given year is determined by investor demand and monthly sales. The series was introduced in 2006 based on demand for investment-grade 24 karat gold coins.

American Buffalo Gold Coin Design

The design of the Gold Buffalo coin is modeled after James Earle Fraser's famous 1913 Buffalo Nickel, commonly referred to as the Indian Head Nickel because of the profile depiction of a Native American Indian on the obverse of the coin.

The obverse features a well-known composite portrait created by combining images of three notable Native American Indian chiefs. Fraser first drew portraits of each chief, then combined prominent features from all three men into a composite sketch.

The chiefs, Iron Tail of the Lakota tribe, Two Moons of the Cheyenne tribe, and John Big Tree of the Seneca tribe.

The reverse of the 1 oz gold coin features the classic buffalo design. The bison design was modeled after Black Diamond, a 1,550 pound bison living in New York City's Central Park Zoo in the early 1900s. The reverse also includes inscriptions detailing the weight, denomination and gold content.

Random Year American Buffalo 1 oz Gold Coin Highlights:

Why Invest in Buffalo Gold Coins from the US Mint?

Stemming from their unique qualities as physical asset, there are several reasons to buy 1 oz Gold Buffalo bullion coins.

The Gold Buffalo is the first 24-karat gold bullion coin issued by the United States Mint. All Gold Buffalo coins are made from 99.99% pure gold, which is higher than the 22-karat gold used in the American Gold Eagle coins. For some investors, this high level of purity makes these coins more appealing.

Due to their wide recognition these coins are highly liquid and can be easily bought, sold and traded in the precious metals market. Their recognition and acceptance are global.

Investors choose 1 oz Gold Buffalo bullion coins for their combination of purity, liquidity, government guarantee, and the intrinsic value of gold.
