Apmex is highly regarded as the premier company if you are looking for diversity of products (they seem to have them all). With that diversity is higher premiums and costlier goods. Every once in a while, I will still purchase something from them, but since discovering Hero Bullion and Bullion Exchanges, I tend to rely on them for actual deals. Apmex is the Neiman Marcus of coins due to the variety.
They use to have better deals and cheap/free shipping. Shipping is only for purchases over $200 which is average. In recent years their premiums have far exceeded their competitors. I only use their app to track purchases from other vendors now. The APMEX rounds and bars usually have scratches from handling. All other products have had no issue. Shipping times are average.
As a first-time buyer, I was a bit apprehensive about purchasing precious metals online. However, APMEX exceeded my expectations. They are trustworthy, reliable, and the products are exactly as described.

Ordered 1 oz Britannia coins from APMEX. While the website was easy to navigate and the delivery timely, the packaging got beat up and the box was torn, not as robust as I expected. The coins are fine, but I've seen better packages from other dealers.
