American Silver Eagle 1 oz Coins

The American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the United States. It was first released by the United States Mint on November 24, 1986. Mintage of the American Silver Eagle varies each year due to investor demand.

In 1986, the value of a 1 oz Silver Eagle Coin could buy five gallons of regular gas. Even with today's inflation, the intrinsic value of the silver in each coin buys roughly the same amount of gas today.

This is a simple example of how silver holds it's value over time relative to the dollar.

Although the dealer premiums are high, there is still tremendous upside in buying random year silver eagles. The premiums on random year ASE will almost always be lower than those minted in the current year.

The years' that get selected for your order will be based on available dealer inventory at that time. It's sometimes possible to make special requests if there are some recent dates you need to fill a tube.

Most Random Year American Silver Eagle coins come from the secondary market. Dealers buy back silver eagles from investors and then offer them at a discounted price. The condition of most will be close to BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) condition.

In some cases some coins may show signs of handling or circulation. It's part of the surprise of buying Random Year coins. We stack because of their intrinsic value and the pathway to a secure financial future.

Random Year ASEs are typically sourced from the secondary market based on dealer inventory at the time of order.

You are making a smart investment in the financial security of your family whether you buy random year American Eagle or current year of mintage coins. As the official bullion coin of the US Mint, ASEs are recognized worldwide and will hold it's value with a higher premium relative to silver spot price.

Coin Highlights:

  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver
  • Protect your investment with 40.6mm Direct Fit Air-Tite Capsules and 40.6mm Air-Tite Coin Tubes, which hold 20 coins
  • Bears a face value of $1 (USD) backed by the United States federal government
  • The coins you receive will be from what is available from individual dealer inventory and will contain random years of mintage

Dates of the Silver American Eagles can be mixed or all the same year depending on dealer inventory.

Silver Eagles are struck only in the one-troy ounce size. They have a nominal face value of one dollar and each American Silver Eagle is guaranteed to contain one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver.

The American Silver Eagle coin was authorized by the Liberty Coin Act, approved July 9, 1985. The silver content, weight, and purity are certified by the United States Mint.

In addition to the bullion version, the United States Mint produces a proof version and an uncirculated version for coin collectors.

The Silver Eagle has been produced at three mints: the Philadelphia Mint, the San Francisco Mint, and the West Point Mint. These coins are often included in Individual Retirement Account investments.
