$1 Face Value 90% Silver Roosevelt Dimes

Prior to 1965, all of the dimes issued by the US Mint for everyday circulation were minted from an alloy made with a combination of 90% pure silver and 10% pure copper.

With the introduction of copper/nickel clad coins and the rising industrial demand for silver in the 1960s, these 90% silver coins were pulled from circulation by many people who understood the intrinsic value of the metal was worth more than the face value.

The Roosevelt dime was minted with this alloy from 1946 until 1964. Buying junk silver dimes is a great way to start a new precious metals investment or to add to an existing stack.
