$2.50 Indian Quarter Eagle Gold Coin (BU)

The $2.50 Indian gold quarter eagle was minted by the United States government from 1908 to 1929. It features a unique design by sculptor Bela Lyon Pratt, a student of Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The obverse of the coin showcases the profile of a Native American chief in full headdress, with the date below. The word LIBERTY is inscribe above with 13 stars around the outer edge. The reverse side displays a standing eagle on a bundle of arrows, with the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" to the left and "IN GOD WE TRUST" to the right.

The most significant aspect of the $2.50 Indian gold quarter eagle is its incuse design, which means that the design elements are recessed into the surface of the coin rather than raised above it. This design choice was a departure from the norm for U.S. coinage and makes the $2.50 Indian gold quarter eagle a unique and highly collectible coin among U.S. gold coin collectors as well as gold investors.

In Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition, a $2.50 Indian gold quarter eagle coin would exhibit no signs of wear or damage, with its surfaces retaining their original luster and all design details being sharp and clear. The coin's color would be a bright, golden yellow, with no toning or discoloration present. The incuse design elements would be well-defined and easily discernible, showcasing the intricate details of the Native American chief's headdress and the eagle's feathers on the reverse.
