Universal Coin & Bullion, established in 1994 and based in Beaumont, Texas, specializes in selling precious metals such as gold and silver, as well as rare coins. The company is known for its extensive range of U.S. Mint products, including American Gold Eagles, Gold Buffalos, and a variety of other international bullion coins from mints like the Royal Canadian Mint and the Royal Mint.

The company is led by Michael Fuljenz, a recognized expert in rare coins and bullion with numerous accolades, including the Florida United Numismatic Ambassador Award and the PNG Sol Kaplan Award. Fuljenz's expertise adds credibility to the company, particularly in the numismatic field.

Universal Coin & Bullion has mixed reviews. On the positive side, the company holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), indicating a commitment to customer service. However, some customers have reported issues such as delayed shipping and aggressive sales tactics. These concerns have led to a cautious approach from some investors when dealing with the company.

Compared to other gold dealers, Universal Coin & Bullion offers a broad selection of products, including rare U.S. coins and bullion from various international mints. They do not, however, provide storage services for precious metals, which some competitors do. The company also lacks a LiveChat feature, which can be a drawback for customers seeking immediate assistance. While they offer competitive pricing on certain items, the aggressive sales tactics and the limited number of online reviews suggest that potential buyers should exercise caution and conduct thorough research before making purchases.

Universal Coin & Bullion stands out for its focus on educating customers about investing in precious metals, which is facilitated through various educational resources and publications by Michael Fuljenz. The company's strong association with the NRA and the sale of exclusive NRA coins may also appeal to certain segments of investors.

I bought items thru American Rifleman ad. There is a limit to some items, but the representative Chris never tried to sell me anything anything else. Order came in 8 days (7/19 to 7/27). I've been NRA since 1968 and i trust them and they trust Universal Coin.

The offer some bullion coins at competitive prices, but you are limited to buy just 1. The reason is they are more interested in getting you on the phone and trying to sell you graded historic coins. Don't fall for it. The prices are not good. Just tell them you are only interested in buying bullion, not coins. Don't buy graded coins if you are not a coin collect and know what you are doing.

Takes FOREVER to ship, never can get any response, no email, you call and they give you the run around and promise someone will call back, they never do.

I took advantage of a great price on an American Gold Eagle that Universal Coin offered. It was about $44 cheaper than the online company I normally use. Unfortunately they limited it to one per household. I would have bought 2-3 more. It is a legit company but their website is glitchy and not user friendly. Be prepared to try several times for pages to load when checking out. My review is: Good price on this single coin but website needs attention. You'd never have the same issues at APMEX. I'll use Universal Coin again only for really good deals, otherwise I don't need the headache of the glitchy website.

Took forever to ship, called multiple times, no one can help, but they say someone will call you back. Online system is archaic, no option for electronic check. Spend a few extra bucks and buy somewhere else.

Pretty slow shipping, however they have consistently had the lowest premiums and all coins have shipped with capsules included.

This coin dealer is taking forever to ship it out. I'm not sure if they'll even want to ship the item. I have paid for my gold coins over two and a half weeks ago and still have not received for items. Every time I call to check on status of your order, they will tell you the sale rep is not available to answer your questions. They promise that someone will call you back but they never did. Sale rep also pressures to sell you overprice rare coins. All they care is taking your money. Customer service is horrible. Stay away.
