The 1/20 oz Gold Maple Leaf Coin is one of the smallest fractional gold coins minted on an annual basis. These coins are minted with the same 99.99% purity level of gold as other coins in the series, and feature the same design.

The obverse side of commonwealth countries like Canada includes a portrait of the reining monarch during the year of minting. Many secondary market Gold Maple Leaf coins include a portrait of Queen Elizabeth. Her portrait was changed several times over the years. Beginning in 2024, these gold coins contain a portrait of King Charles III.
