With a few exceptions, the reverse design of the gold Panda coin changes annually. This year, the 2023 Panda 8 gram gold coins features two young giant panda bears playing in a tree. One is looking down and reaching out to its companion who appears to be climbing up the trunk of the tree.
Inscriptions along the top edge of the back show the weight, 8 grams .999 fine gold. The denomination of 100 yuan (100元) is shown to the right.
