With a few exceptions, the reverse design of the gold Panda coin changes annually this year features two young giant bears playing in a tree. One of the pandas is looking down and reaching out to its companion climbing up the trunk of the tree.
Inscriptions along the top edge the reverse shows the weight, 30 grams .999 fine gold. The denomination of 500 yuan (500元) is shown to the right.
