2024 Austrian Philharmonic 1 oz Platinum Coin

The design of the 1 oz Platinum Philharmonic remains the same since debuting in 2016. The Platinum Philharmonic offers a blend of aesthetic beauty and tangible value.

The theme is a celebration of Austria's contributions to the world of classical music, particularly the world-renowned Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

The obverse of the coin displays the great organ found in Vienna's Musikverein Golden Hall, home to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Above the organ, the words "REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH" (Republic of Austria) are inscribed. The face value, weight, purity, and year of issue are also displayed on this side.

The reverse showcases a collection of orchestral instruments: a horn in the center, flanked by a bassoon on the left and a harp on the right. Surrounding these are four violins with a cello at the center-bottom. Above the instruments, the inscription "WIENER PHILHARMONIKER" (Vienna Philharmonic) appears, and the word "SILBER" (Silver) is placed at the bottom.

Both of the designs were sculpted by Thomas Pesendorfer, the chief engraver of the Austrian mint.

It is the most well known platinum bullion coin with a legal tender face value denomination in Euros.
