Royal Belgian Mint

The Royal Belgian Mint, known in French as "La Monnaie Royale de Belgique" and in Dutch as "Koninklijke Munt van België", was the official mint of the Kingdom of Belgium. The mint was located in Brussels and had a history dating back to 1832 but ceased operations in 2018 due to the decreased use of cash and the high costs of producing coins.

When gold was commonly used in coinage, the Royal Mint of Belgium was responsible for the striking of gold 20 Francs coins featuring Belgian monarchs like Leopold II and Albert I that were minted in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Belgium 20 francs gold coins are highly regarded by investors and are often one of the lowest premium vintage bullion coins available.
