The Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coins merge the world of music and gold into a single piece of art. Its rich design, which pays homage to Austria's deep musical heritage, combined with its purity and recognition, has cemented its position as a favored choice among both investors and collectors.

The Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coin was first introduced in 1989 by the Austrian Mint in Vienna, one of the world's oldest mints with over 800 years of coin-production experience.

The Austrian Mint

The Austrian Mint ("Münze Österreich" in German) is located in Vienna, Austria and is responsible for minting the country's legal tender coins, including those minted from precious metals and has a rich history that spans over eight centuries.

The Austrian Mint's origins trace back to 1194 when Richard the Lionheart paid 12 tons of silver to Duke Leopold V of Austria as a ransom. This vast quantity of silver is said to have given birth to the mint, as it provided ample raw material for coin production for years to come.

Today, the Austrian Mint is equipped with state-of-the-art coin production technology, ensuring the quality and precision of its products. It also employs a team of artists, engravers, and technicians who work together to design and produce coins that are both beautiful and technically impeccable.

The most internationally recognized coin from the Austrian Mint is the Vienna Philharmonic bullion coin, available in gold, silver, and platinum. It's one of the world's best-selling bullion coins.
