The Kookaburra series fro, the Perth Mint is one of the longest running silver and gold coin series. This year, 2020, marks the 30th anniversary of the program.

The Silver Kookaburra remains one of the most popular from the mint.

Each of the 2020 2 oz Australian Piedfort Silver Kookaburra coins are available individually inside of protective acrylic capsules.

The Perth Mint set a maximum mintage for the 2 oz coin only in this release. The maximum of 75,000 coins.

This Perth Mint will continue to strike the other two weights through the end of 2020, at which point a final mintage will be declared and production will end.

2020 marks the 30th anniversary of the Australian Silver Kookaburra. The bird that is synonymous with the Australian Outback has featured on silver bullion coins of varying weights since its 1990 introduction by the Perth Mint.

On the reverse of 2020 Australian Silver Kookaburra Piedfort-style Coins is a new design from Jennifer McKenna. On this side, a kookaburra is shown on the apex of a roof as the sun rises to greet a new day in the distance.

The obverse of 2020 2 oz Australian Piedfort Silver Kookaburra Coins bears a special design for the 30th anniversary. At the top is a small circle that features Jody Clarks latest effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Below that in the center of the coin is Stuart Devlins original 1990 image of the kookaburra that launched the program. Special date marks in the design include 1990 2020.
