For the most recognizable silver bullion coin in the world, that\u2019s massive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The biggest loser:<\/strong> The 1\/10 oz Gold Eagle, usually considered the \u201csafe haven\u201d for small buyers, got hammered. This is true demand weakness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Retail buyers are MIA.<\/strong> The usual pattern\u2014running to fractional gold when 1 oz is \u201ctoo expensive\u201d\u2014isn\u2019t showing up. All sizes are down hard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Market share loss.<\/strong> The Mint is losing out to private mints and other sovereigns (Canada, UK, Australia, South Africa) that sell at lower premiums and with more reliable supply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Is This Happening?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Gold and silver prices are still near all-time highs.<\/strong> Many small buyers are being priced out, and larger buyers are opting for cheaper options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stackers have options.<\/strong> Generic rounds and bars, or foreign sovereigns, deliver metal at a lower cost per ounce. The \u201cpatriotic premium\u201d isn\u2019t worth it for most buyers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dealer inventories are high.<\/strong> Resellers aren\u2019t panicking for more stock. The supply pipeline is not empty, but clogged.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For Investors: This a Buying Opportunity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>If you\u2019re a bargain hunter:<\/strong> Watch premiums. If this trend continues, Eagles could see the lowest new-issue premiums in years, especially if dealers need to clear inventory.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>If you\u2019re a collector:<\/strong> A low-mintage <a href=\"https:\/\/findbullionprices.com\/p\/2025-American-Silver-Eagle\/\">2025 Silver Eagle<\/a> might become a future key date if sales don\u2019t rebound in the second half.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t mistake US Mint pain for market pain.<\/strong> Physical bullion demand globally is still strong\u2014just not for overpriced US government coins.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Takeaway<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The US Mint isn\u2019t dead, but its sales model is outdated. Investors and stackers have evolved.
